EES - December 2013

December 2013

From My Pen

A challenging yet rewarding 2013

What a year!

I have never been so motivated to wake up every morning and work with such tremendous business associates and clients and lead a great team of people.

Our staff complement doubled in size this year, and we have taken on new clients, strengthened existing client relationships and undertaken significant projects.

We have helped move the biggest auditing firm on the globe to their new Africa headquarters in Sandton; we project managed two of the first round of South African renewable energy plants and connected them to the Eskom grid; and we are currently giving 5000 people across 26 African countries a new PC experience, known as OneDesk.

We practiced what we preached and moved twelve years of our data, applications and mail to the cloud. Initiatives we have backed and contributed to have been renewable energy, reduction in energy consumption for commerce and industry, green construction, UCS, migration to the cloud, and the importance of physical and logical network security.

Of course, this being the season of giving, it is not only about our business, but also about what we can give back to the community. November 21 marked the International Day of Giving and was also the day EES strengthened its role as benefactor and supporter to one of the concerns close to our heart, the Westlake United Church Trust (WUCT). We have contributed to some of their projects, most recently their Change a Life Campaign and Mandela Day 2013.

I wish a blessed Christmas, and a wonderful and inspiring 2014 to all our clients, associates, business colleagues and service providers! Thank you all for a rewarding 2013. We look forward to an exciting 2014 filled with “big thinking” projects, innovative and leading edge business developments and mutually rewarding results.
