Automated Number Plate Recognition – crucial to crime prevention in South Africa

Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is becoming increasingly important to enterprise security services for the private sector in South Africa. Many serious and violent crimes involve the use of a stolen vehicle or a vehicle that has been involved in a previous criminal activity.

ANPR is a sub-integral surveillance platform utilising optical character recognition, which is the mechanical or electronic conversion of images of typed, handwritten or printed text into machine- encoded text.

From My Pen

Seasons greetings and thank you for your support

This past year has proceeded at an extraordinary pace and it seems it was only yesterday that I was wishing you well for the 2014 festive season.

This year has been characterised by expansion of our national footprint and staff complement as well as diversification into new markets. EES Africa (Pty) Ltd would not have been able to do this without the invaluable support of our clients and associates. You have helped us to sustain and build our company and operations despite an increasingly competitive market and tough economic conditions, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and partnerships in 2015.

Our latest white paper, written by Project Engineer, Muneer Adam, is on ‘Automated Number Plate Recognition (AMPR) – crucial to crime prevention in SA’. Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), a sub-integral surveillance platform utilising optical character recognition, is becoming increasingly important to enterprise security services in South Africa. Please have a look at the paper and be in touch if you have any queries on the subject.

I wish you a peaceful and safe Christmas, and all the happiness the season can bring.

Regards,
Bradley
