Project management of IT moves

In the event of a company or business moving premises, it is vital to carefully project manage the relocation of ICT systems and telecommunication systems. In doing so it is essential to implement and follow a Project Management Plan (PMP), outlining formal business requirements. This mitigates the risks involved in the relocation. It is beneficial to outsource the role of project management to an organisation with experience and expertise in this field.

Failure to follow a PMP invariably results in:

  • Time over-runs
  • Shortcomings on the proposed solution
  • A solution that does not talk to business

Having conducted IT moves for a number of corporate clients, EES Africa has the appropriate knowledge and experience required for a relocation.

Meeting clients’ specific needs and requests

This month we welcome three new members to our EES Africa drawing office in Cape Town. Drawing specialists, Carina Faye Maree, Zandalee Geldenhuys, and Annetta Benade, are already hard at work carrying out detailing and design for our projects, and ensuring every project is customised according to each client’s specific needs.

We are receiving an increasing number of requests for assistance with IT moves when clients move premises. Having conducted IT moves for a number of corporate clients, we at EES Africa have the appropriate knowledge and experience required to project manage the relocation of ICT systems and telecommunication systems. In doing so we implement a Project Management Plan (PMP) to mitigate the risk involved in a relocation.

Vicky Killian, Project Manager, outlines what project management of an IT move involves and why it is crucial to follow a PMP in our latest white paper.

We encourage any clients or prospective clients contemplating an IT move to contact us to chat about it further.
